Index Fence Completes Moisture-Rated Wood Privacy Fence Project

Residential lots along the creek corridors of southern Wake County hold a seasonal high water table within a foot or two of the surface for much of the winter and spring, more ground moisture than a standard treated fence board is rated to sit in. Building near a creek corridor also means working around easements. Drainage and stormwater easements commonly run along these waterways, and fencing is not permitted inside them, so the company confirms the easement and floodplain boundaries on a lot before it sets a line. Fuquay-Varina does not require a permit for a residential fence, but the town still enforces standards on placement, ground clearance, and orientation, and Index Fence builds to those rather than leaving the homeowner to sort them out.
