The April 2025 report, “Central Florida veterans share struggles with PTSD,” by Spectrum News 13 reporter Asher Wildman, followed Army veterans Kevin Steinmann and Paul Mason as they spoke candidly about living with post-traumatic stress disorder and their experiences using immersive scenarios at Decision Tactical. The Society of Professional Journalists recognized Wildman’s report, entered as “Vets Try New Methods To Cope with PTSD,” with First Place in the Television and Video Health Reporting category at the 2026 Sunshine State Awards.

For Decision Tactical, the recognition also brings renewed attention to work that extends beyond professional training: creating an environment where veterans can come together and challenge themselves alongside people who understand their experiences.
