Lakewood-based moving company adds new services coverage for communities adjacent to Joint Base Lewis-McChord and Naval Base Kitsap.

LAKEWOOD, WA, UNITED STATES, September 3, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Golden Services LLC has expanded its service area to include DuPont and Silverdale, Washington, extending residential, military, long-distance, packing, and storage services to two communities where military relocations make up a significant share of local moving demand.

The DuPont expansion returns the company to the market it was built around. Golden Services LLC was founded in 1992 by Ed Zielinski to serve military families stationed at Fort Lewis and McChord Air Force Base, now consolidated as Joint Base Lewis-McChord. DuPont sits along the I-5 corridor between Tacoma and Olympia, and its DuPont Gate offers one of the shortest commutes to JBLM of any surrounding community. Coverage there includes the Northwest Landing master-planned community along with Historic Village, Bell Hill, Hoffman Hill, Palisade Village, and Edmond Village.

Silverdale, an unincorporated community that serves as the retail and commercial hub of the Kitsap Peninsula, sits near Naval Base Kitsap, which includes Naval Submarine Base Bangor. Coverage includes Ridgetop, Silverdale Heights, and waterfront neighborhoods along Dyes Inlet.

“Both of these communities run on two different clocks,” said Kimberly Drangstveit, general manager of Golden Services LLC. “A PCS move is scheduled around a report date and government paperwork. A civilian move is scheduled around a closing or a builder’s completion date. Those are different planning problems, and a crew that knows which one it’s walking into makes a real difference on move day.”

In DuPont, civilian relocations frequently involve new construction in Northwest Landing, where a move must be coordinated against a builder’s completion date rather than a fixed move-out. The city’s trail-connected neighborhood layout also affects truck access and parking compared with a conventional suburban street grid.

In Silverdale, the Tacoma Narrows Bridge crossing factors into scheduling for moves originating in Lakewood or Tacoma, since bridge traffic can shift arrival and departure windows on both ends of a job.

“Most of what goes wrong on a move is a scheduling problem, not a lifting problem,” said Drangstveit. “The survey is where you catch it. That’s where we find out about the driveway, the bridge timing, the builder who’s running two weeks behind.”

Local moves in both communities are billed by time and materials under Washington’s household goods tariff, the pricing model used statewide for in-state moves. Military moves may fall under separate government-arranged pricing depending on orders and entitlement weight allowances. Golden Services LLC builds written estimates from an in-person or video home survey.

The company operates three locations with more than 140 employees and handles more than 7,000 household and office relocations annually. As a National Van Lines agent, it coordinates long-distance and international moves in addition to local service throughout the Puget Sound region.
