MANSONVILLE, QUéBEC, CANADA, September 2, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — NexKemia Petrochemicals Inc. is pleased to announce the signing of a long-term recycled polystyrene supply agreement with UpSolv, strengthening NexKemia’s access to recycled polystyrene for use in high-quality expandable polystyrene (EPS) resins.
Under the agreement, UpSolv will supply NexKemia with recycled polystyrene produced using its proprietary dissolution technology. This material will provide NexKemia with an additional source of recycled polystyrene, complementing the mechanically recycled materials already incorporated into its high-quality expandable polystyrene resins. The long-term supply relationship will also provide a reliable commercial outlet for the output of UpSolv’s first commercial recycling facility in Quebec.
“This agreement represents a major milestone for UpSolv. It validates not only the strong product-market fit of our first-of-its-kind solution, but also the resilience, execution excellence, and cross-functional collaboration that define our team. We’re proud to deliver innovative solutions that help our customers solve complex sustainability challenges,” said Rahul Rasal, Chief Commercial Officer of UpSolv.
The collaboration also reflects a shared commitment to expanding the range of polystyrene materials that can be recovered and returned to productive use, helping support the continued development of a more circular polystyrene supply chain.
“We are pleased to partner with UpSolv, whose innovative dissolution technology represents an important advancement in polystyrene recycling. This collaboration will help increase the recycling of polystyrene across North America by enabling the recovery of materials that are often difficult to recycle through conventional methods. Together, we are supporting the development of a more circular economy and creating sustainable solutions that deliver both environmental and commercial value,” said Stéphane Trépanier, General Manager of NexKemia.
Through this long-term partnership, NexKemia and UpSolv will work together to increase the use of recycled polystyrene and create lasting value for their customers, industry partners, and the environment.
