AI agents handle compliance so fintechs can make same-day SWIFT payments, with MT103 proof of payment included
MIAMI, FL, UNITED STATES, October 19, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Paying a supplier on behalf of a client is one of the hardest things for a fintech to do. Payments are rejected when the ultimate payor’s name doesn’t match the invoice, or when the supplier’s bank asks for documents the sender can’t provide. Most fintechs can only solve that by opening a virtual account for every client. Proof of payment, the MT103 that suppliers need before releasing goods, can take days. Many of these importers are small and operate through fintechs and global trade companies, so banks hesitate to process their payments at all.
Kira today launched Agentic POBO (Payments on Behalf Of) to address this. A client of a Kira customer can pay an overseas supplier in their own name, without opening a virtual account. An AI agent checks the ultimate payor’s name against the invoice, assembles the documents the receiving bank expects, and flags anything missing.
Payments go out over SWIFT the same day, and Kira provides the MT103 proof of payment.
“As a fintech company, we couldn’t pay a supplier in our client’s name. Banks wouldn’t process it. Even a normal SWIFT payment took about 72 hours, and the MT103 came up to three days after that, so our clients waited close to a week to prove they had paid. With Kira, the payment goes out in the client’s name the same day, and we get the MT103 as proof.” — Gabriela, CEO, Outsource X (Global trade broker based in Panama)
How it works
– A fintech, broker, or business sends a payment on behalf of its client (the ultimate payor).
– Fintechs can offer POBO to their own clients through Kira.
– Settlement time: the agent prepares the file and selects the route in seconds; the payment goes out over SWIFT the same day.
– Proof of payment: MT103 included.
– Agents prepare the compliance file and select the bank route; a Kira officer signs off. No extra virtual account required.
Who is POBO for
– Import brokers who need a supplier paid, not a new bank account to manage.
– Fintechs and payment service providers serving importers, particularly Latin American importers paying suppliers in China.
– Intercompany payments, such as a US company paying an Asian supplier on behalf of its Brazilian affiliate.
– Invoice-backed payments to repeat foreign suppliers, such as those made by travel agencies.
“Paying a supplier in a client’s name is something most fintechs can’t offer, because banks reject the payment or ask for an account per client. Our AI agents assemble the compliance file and pick the route in seconds, and our compliance team signs off. That is how a 72-hour wait turned into a same-day payment.” — Beto, COO, Kira
POBO payments are invoice-backed and subject to Kira’s compliance review.
